The first America International Team Match is underway this morning at Connaught Ranges. It's a beautiful sunny day, with a light breeze from the northwest. Teams of 8 firers from Canada, Great Britain, Germany and the United States will fire 15 shots at 300 and 600 yards, 800 and 900 metres.

Scores after 300 yards:
Great Britain 596v75

The 600 yards is about to start.

11:45 EDT (15:45 UTC/GMT)

The 600 yards is now complete, ending with the GB Team firing their last shot with 1 second left! Trigger problems with one shooter caused him to have to stop firing, change rifles and fire his last two shots in the final minute.

The wind has increased, still mostly from the left, but coming straight down range on occasion.

Scores after 600 yards
Great Britain 596v75 585v58 = 1181v133

There has been a good breeze all afternoon, varying in both strength and direction. Coaches on all teams have earned their keep. Great Britain had an excellent team shoot at 800 metres and have increased their lead to 26 points.

Scores after 800 metres
Great Britain 596v75 585v58 587v47 = 1768v180

The 900 metres in just about to get underway.

17:15 EDT (21:15 UTC/GMT)

In very difficult conditions at 900 metres, Great Britain increased their lead, and won a convincing victory in the First America Match. The wind was varying in both strength and direction, with corrections varying from 6 to 15 minutes left. Scores are preliminary pending a final check, but there is no doubt of the order of results.
