Thu 17 Aug 2006

This is just a brief word, written the evening before things get underway on Friday morning. It looks as if we'll have just under 300 shooters in the Grand Aggregate - including competitors from all across Canada, and teams and individuals from Bermuda, Germany, Great Britain, Jamaica, New Zealand and the USA. Many people will be staying on after the end of the normal Canadian Championships for the America Match on Sunday 27th, and the three day F Class Open Tournament starting on the 28th. More on both of these later in the week.

The weather forecast for the first few days is very good - quite a change from the last two years when the first Friday was all but washed out. So we can look forward to good competition in fine but breezy conditions.

The events on Friday are the Sierra ISSF 300 metre Championship, the 223/556 Championship (300 yards to 900 metres), the Long Range Challenge (900 metres) and the Ottawa Regiment (800 metres). Results of these tomorrow evening.
