I usually give my excuses for incoherent gibberish at the end of my report ... tonight let me start off with them, just in case I never reach the end! Excellent BBQed salmon, cool white wine, followed by some succulent cheeses and a bottle of Shiraz. Well done, Stan!

It was a beautiful day for shooting - warm and sunny, but not humid, with mostly light winds. Those who fired at 600 yards or 800 metres in the middle of the afternoon experienced some more challenging conditions, with fairly swift wind changes of 3 minutes or more. But, for the most part, the conditions were relatively benign.

Two matches were fored today, comprising the Dick Hampton Monday Aggregate. The Norman Beckett, 300 and 800 metres, has produced a tie between James Lewis and David Luckamn, both of the GBRT, with scores of 100.18. There were 22 double possibles. Larry Bartholome, Dave Rumbold and Jon Cowee have tied for the F Class with 119. Tie shoots will be held.

The John Brick, 500 and 600 yards, was won by Henry Jeens, GBRT, with 100.15, from Middleton Tompkins, Prescott, AL, Mike Wong Shui, and Clement Rousseau, Levis, Quebec, all on 100.14. A tie in the F Class with scores of 118 will be shot off between Jim Murphy, Jurgen Berg, BDMP, Germany, and Wolfgang Scholze.

The Dick Hamption Monday Aggregate was won by Mike Wong Shui, 200.28/300. Counted out, but also with scores of 200 were David Luckman, Norm Anderson, Columbus, Georgia, John Pugsley, GBRT, and Jim Paton.

There is a long way to go in the Macdonald Stewart Grand Aggregate, but after a day and a half, four are still tied at 300/300: Norm Anderson, David Luckman, Mike Wong Shui and Jim Paton. There are 7 scores of 299. In F Class, Wolfgang Sholze leads the pack with 355/360, from Jim Murphy 354 and Larry Bartholome 353.

Tomorrow will see the Letson Match, first part of the Qualifying for the Governor General's Final, and that maker or breaker of aggregates, the Alexander of Tunis at 900 metres. The forecast is for scattered showers (30% POP) and a high of 23C. Should be a pretty nice day for shooting.

We do now have the results of the DCRA Black Powder Matches held over the weekend. Full results will be on the DCRA web site in due course. The Grand Aggregate Champions were David Hicks, Dave Gullo and Cody Hicks. Team USA won the long range internations handily over Canada.
