Just back from the GB/Germany/USA party - and a very welcome glass or two of Danny Coleman's excellent Pimms. "Nothing to harm you in that, my dear!"

All in all, this was a good shooting day. There was quite a good breeze from the front, mostly a little from the left, but with the occasional switch the other way - my magpie at 800 metres is testimony to this.

The main match was the President's at 300 metres, 500 and 600 yards. Jane Messer, GBRT, was the outright winner with 150.25, from Jim paton, White Rock, BC, 150.23. There were 21 scores of 150 and a further 22 of 149.

The other range fired was the 800 metre stage of the Gibson, which will be finished on Thursday morning.

Yesterday's Letson and today's President's together form the qualifying aggregate for the Governor Generals' Final on Saturday. Jane Messer heads the list of 50 qualifiers with 255.37, from Jim Paton 255.36, Alain Marion and Danny Colemen 255.33. Subject to any revision, the last qualifier for the Final is Matt Charlton, GBRT, with 251.26. Only the President's score is carried forward into the Final. In F Class, Vanessa Warner is the top qualifier with 304. Jurgen Berg, BDMP Germany, is the 10th qualifier with 293. So the scores are very close and, with two long ranges on Saturday afternoon, and possibly unsettled weather, the Finals should be keenly contested.

Finally, the Grand Aggregate now has 655 points down and just 175 to go. The leader this evening is David Luckman, GBRT, on 653.89, two points ahead of Jane Messer 651.83 and Alain Marion 651.72, Jim Murphy leads the F Class with 769/786, from Larry Bartholome 766, and Des Parr 760.

Tomorrow morning will see the conclusion of the Gibson at 300 metres and 600 yards. In the afternoon are the inter-Provincial team Matches at both short asnd long range, as well as the Outlander for visiting teams. There are also individual matches for those not in teams, as well as a less formal team match.
