0745. Cloudy skies, light drizzle, misty ... those are this morning's conditions at the start of the America International Team Match being fired today. The forecast is a little better for this afternoon.
Four teams are competing in each of the TR (8 shooters) and F Class (4 shooters) Matches. Ranges are 300 and 600 yards, 800 and 900 metres, 15 shots at each
The Great Britain Team is providing a rapid update of scores at http://www.nra.org.uk/gbrt/palma/livescores/htm.
1015. This morning, the teams were all ready to start the 600 yards range, when the heavens opened. After much anxious peering, with ever more blurry eyes, at the Environment Canada Weather Radar, shooting was suspended and an early lunch break taken.
1230. The 600 yards has started and will be followed at 1430 by the two long ranges. As I write this, the weather is clearing a bit, though it is still heavily overcast. Your scribe, the DCRA Match Director, feels that he deserves a large increase in his already impressive salary as a result of this morning's mental anguish. However, a 1,000,000% increase on zero is not very much!
1345. Scores will be updated after the 600 yard range, which is just finishing.

Following the awards, we repaired to the Connaught Bar, for snacks and drinks - the latter generously donated by the GB Team in celebration of their very impressive victory.
And tomorrow will see the start of the three-day 900 metre F Class Open Tournament, with about 100 F(Open), F(Farquharson) and TR shooters taking part. For reports on this, please refer to the FCT location on this web site.
