This will be a fairly brief report tonight, since it's late following the Macdonald Stewart Dinner at the Chateau Laurier, and I have to shoot at 0800. I'll add to it tomorrow when I hope there will be a little more time.
The Dinner honours the winners of the Macdonald Stewart Grand Aggregate and the Walter M. Stewart Memorial Prize. It was a great pleasure to have Mrs. Liliane Stewart in person to present the awards. These were won, respectively, by David Luckman, GBRT, and by Roger Romses, Aurora, Ontario. Top lady in the Grand, winning the Tess Spencer Memorial, was Jane Messer, GBRT. Winner of the F Class, for the Crone Trophy, was Jim Murphy, Owensboro, Kewntucky; and in F(F), the winner of the Farquharson Trophy was John Tetlow, Glenburnie, Ontario. Ontario won the Provincial Team Grand Aggregate.
The final squadded competition in the Grand was the Gatineau where there is a tie at 75.10 between Middleton Tompkins, Prescott, Arizona, and Tyrel Cooper, Fort Benning, Georgia. Top F Class was Wolfgang Scholze, BDMP, with 89.
The firing of the Gatineau also concluded the Gzowski Long Range Aggregate, won by david Luckman, and F class Larry Bartholome, El Paso, Texas. The same two shooters also won the Polar Bear Aggregate for mid and long ranges.
A few results from late yesterday include: the london Merchants - Ontario; the Outlander - GB Vice Captain's Team; the Michael Faraday Imperial cadet Teams - Canadian Cadets; the Gibson - David Calvert, GBRT, and John Brewer, Canton, Mississippi in F Class.
This afternoon, GB won the Commonwealth Match by 2 points from Canada. USA Team Berger won the Lum, with Jim Murphy and John Brewer failing to blow the Charles Young bugle - that one that launched the Charge of the Light Brigade. After 19 separate shoots, Colin Brown and Jim Thompson were tied, for the second year, in the all important 'cofffeee' match.
And so to bed!
